Firefox/internet help

i seem to be having a problem in firefox,

everytime i search for something in google i get the list of sites but when i click one of the links i seem to get sent somewhere bogus

now is this some kind of virus or spyware s**t? as i don't seem to be able to find it using virgin pcguard

Virus mate. PC Guard is an appalling bit of software. Get it uninstalled now!

Download Malware Bytes and do a full scan, get AVG and run a safe mode scan.

Done!

Unless you're using Vista, I had it on there and couldn't fix it so I just binned it and put XP back on.
