Right first things first. Thank you to burp for the picture :rasp: I hope you dont mind.

Right today i had my fuel pressure pipe replaced on my ph1 172.

Now like in burp's picture i did have two lines feeding to the rail like shown either side

But now i only have one? But searching the forum i notice alot of the later models only one one?

Was there an upgrade?? Its just strange that i have lost one pipe and nothing has been put on the end of the fuel rail?

It dosnt leak or smell of fuel? Any one know something i dont? :eek:

Just looked like he forgot to put the second line on! :eek:

atch if you had one before then unless he took the tank off and fitted a FPR then now you dont have one?

did he replace the whole rail?

is the TB now blocked off where the feed line used to link to the FPR

i would suggest that your fuel rail has been replaced with a later style as ben says

but why not just ask the person who did the work?

and are you 100% positive you had 2 pipes coming off the rail before (a feed and a return)

Cant get hold of him fella... Whilst sitting her i thought ill post about it.

And 100% possitive.

well they have even put the correct renault bung ont he end of the TB

you cant buy it seperate either!

so they must have access to loads of parts..


or the second line was never there ..

in that case he must have fit the the new fpr in the tank, removed both old pipes (feed and return), re-routed new pipe and replaced rail with later style that are blocked on that end, and then blocked the vacuum feed from the inlet? seems alot of work for one faulty pipe!

you got a bill or anything?

It was a Renault specialist who carried out the work. And there was def two lines lol!!!!!

So all is good???

Part was £30

Labour was £40

TBH Mark, me and trung can only remember you having the one fuel line.

For that cost there is no way they could of replaced one line and the required fuel pump, so i dont think you had 2 lines int he first place.

Hmmmmm. I swear im not going mad! Because when i had to stick a cable tie to stop the fead line popping of i accidently tied it around the return line. :S

Ill speak to the bloke tomorrow...

And Gashed is being nice about the blokes work aye Ben!

every mk1 i've worked on has 2 fuel lines, a feed and a return with the fpr at the end of the rail

seems odd, all mk2's have just a feed with the fpr in the tank

Its really strange. Im 100% certain it had two lines and also that its never had a line going to the tb like shown.

Still will have to wait and see what he says. But surely it will leak from the other end tho if it was ment to have a fpr on the rail? I cant smell petrol or anything?
