Can you record from tape cassettes to your computer using audacity?

I would use line/aux out on your hi-fi to the line in on the PC, then simply play and record using Audacity. Make sure you PC's sound recording setting has line in ticked.

In Audacity I would select Stereo Mix next to the Mic slider.

It says on audacitys website to plug a cable into your headphone socket on your cd player, and then into the line in on your pc but i dont think iv got a cable

Yea i've got 2 of them mate, thats what i use to play my mp3's through my stereo, but it dont seem to work when i'm trying to record in audacity??
