F4R timing tool hire enquiry

  Pug 206 SW, 172 CUP
I've tried just about every order of search words I can find and nothing recent has come up on here or Google so I'm asking the question.

Is anyone still hiring these tools out? This is just an enquiry at the moment

Renault are currently charging 162.14 for the current lot which isn't bad as I can get a good chunk of that back selling them on as I did last time but I would prefer to hire when the time comes. Also Renault has no stock even in France so ordering them will take a while.

I asked my local dealer about hire and they were not interested.

I'm in Bristol and i'd be happy to pay a deposit for the replacement value that would be refunded to me when the tools are returned in good order.

If not I may just buy them and hire them out myself!

To be clear this is an enquiry I don't need them yet.

Thanks.

Have you checked the price with any of the traders on here? Pretty sure I was quote a fair bit less than that earlier this year.

Ok. Thanks. Seems the tools are currently unavailable. No stock in France and supply problems. So it's either hire or aftermarket.

I can see why the aftermarket items bend and how to reduce that. Missing the square bracing washers that are on the Renault item isn't a good start. especially if the metal is softer. Info on which tools have the right bits, extended cog, spacers etc isn't crystal clear. Even so, still a possible route if the tried and tested route isn't available. I know how the job should be done which helps.

I'd pay a specialist but if there's issues when they get in there I can afford parts but not labour on top. Any money saved is more in the track day and tyre pot. Which is already small!

You sir are a legend. It won't be until next year now but your help gives my plans another avenue! I'd like to save a tired but worthy example rather than Muller a tidy future classic. If you decide to sell the tools in the future let me know and I'd be interested.

I can let my dad know the good news. He's retiring in a couple of weeks and my first sprog is due in march but were still hoping to track on a budget and the 172 cup is a bit of a no brainer in terms of fun per pound!

We look after tools so they'd be in good hands.

Thanks!!
