engines hmmmmmmmmmm

  mk2 clio grande
wondering how hard it would be to do an engine conversion

i have a mk2 phase 1 with a 1.2 8v engine in the car at the moment

1st question - for a 1.2 16v engine would i have to change the driveshafts and the gearbox and all the other things or is it just a case of taking out the block and fitting the valver engine

2nd question for the 1.4 sport engine conversion wot would i have to change on that and would i have to change the rears from drums to disks lol

let me know your answers haha cheers folks

pointless exercise tbh, just buy a new car.

In answer to your questions though, you would need engine and box for both conversions, not sure about drive shafts though probably.

No need to change the rear beam to discs, the drums that are on there will be fine

if you are going to go to all the trouble and expense of doing this
you may as well get a 172/182 engine put in as it wouldnt really be all that cost effective and marginal power gains

for the money you would spend you could pick up an early ph1 172
