Engine revving upto 3k in it's own.

  TT 225
Pulled into work this morning, little bump where the road meets the Tarmac carpark, engine spun up to 3k even though I was breaking and had my clutch in to roll up to the barrier. So I turned the engine off, turned it back on and it wouldn't fire up, tried about 3 times before thinking I'd fucked something up. So I opened the car door to tell the guy behind me now waiting to get in and give it another go and it started up as normal.

Any ideas? Someone said it might be a lambda sensor cos my car is quite low it may have damaged it but I'm not so sure?

probably a loom fault then, pretty common. There will be a short in the wiring that was jolted by the bump and opened up the throttle (it's electronic)
