Engine idles funny

My engine has been behaving strangely recently.
If I put my foot very lightly on the accelerator the revs start to lift and then drop back down to idle speed. If i put my foot down a little harder same happens again. I need my foot down a fair bit before the revs start to climb. any ideas?

Do you mean that she is lumpy on idle? Do you find the engine smooths out at about 1000rpm? Does it sometimes feel like she is hiccuping?

it is lumpy on idle but i mean as i put my foot on the accelerator the revs will not rise they begin to rise but settle back to 500rpm straight away takes foot being down quite abit before they will rise normally.

Crack the 10mms/T30s out from the coils and start it up.

Lift each coil out to see if its 'firing'

Is it worth noting that once the revs start to pick up they climb normally all the way up

throttle body either clean or replacement.
