Electronic Oil Sensor

when you start your car up and it displays the oil level in the little [] [] [] on the dash how accurate is this. im fully topped up according to the display, can i always relie on this?

Don't use it as a gospal but its not that bad,

I usally check my oil manually after i wash it, so thats weekly always have a look at the clocks on start up as a resurance
