Electrics - Car reseting it's self...

This has happened twice over the last 2 months to my 172 PH1.

When i go to start the car i.e. turn the key, it fails to turn over and then resets all the electronics, this causes the radio to reset (have to input the code) along with the clock. If I then 2 seconds later try to start the car it is fine.

I was thinking this could just be a bad earth connection?

Any help appreciated.

Either that or your battery is on it's way out mate. Lots of people have had electronics reset and after changing the battery all was fine
