Egr delete

  Clio 172
No reason why that wouldn't work, very simple but makes sense, sits between the ball and cup joint.
You might through some codes up into ecu and cause it to go into limp due to restricted flow but only one way to find out!

Bought it if it does put the car into limp mode is there any way of getting rid of it by means of deletion of the code it spits out etc? . Other than that is there any other engine running problems that could arise as a result of blocking it off?

You may find you will have a bit more smoke than usual as your removing the recirculation.
I've only seem it in some cases where the ecu tries to 'egr' and can't due to a gummed up valve or blanked valve and will throw a code relating to restricted flow. The only way round it would be to run a resistor in line with the wiring harness or have it deleted on the ecu. Once in limp mode you'll have to either clear the code or cycle the ignition to clear it.
For the sake of a tenner and a couple of minutes fitting it's worth a shot, run for a week and see how you get on
