Ecotec valve

I have been told that an ecotec valve for clio172 does not really work as well as it does on other cars, is this true?
Looking to get a new ECU where is best in the West Midland area?

Ecotec is a waste of time on the car won't make any more power.

I find that if you drop a push pop into the fuel tank after each fill up, the added sugar in the combustion chamber creates a richer mixture which has a very similar effect to that of an Ecotek valve.

waste of money imo, i had one on for 6 months and it made no difference, and the noise! even if it gave me 20 bhp it wouldnt be worth it just because of the amazingly loud 'dregs out of a glass with a straw' sucking noise it made just above idle, people would stare at my car as i pulled up because of it! leave well alone!
