Dynamique smelling of egg on the inside (not the usual).

I had a search, most seem to point to the cat -- as I'd expect with the smell of Eggs.

However, the interior has an eggy whiff, even without starting the car.

I don't think it's:

• Sunroof leak / stagnant water, the sunroof was resealed last year and never reeked of egg while it leaked (a lot).
• Cat, it stinks without the engine running.
• Pollen filter, it's just been changed a fortnight ago during a major service.

There's no water under the rear seats, or in the boot / spare wheel well.

I'm out of ideas, anyone else ever had this ???

Have you checked/cleaned under the fourskin?

Can you isolate where the smell comes from/where its strongest?

Air con?

Something dead in the engine seeping into the cabin?

I'd whip the cat off and give that a whiff.

Dead cat in cat.

I'm 82 percent certain that oil build up causes a smell. Look under the oil filler cap and look for a yellowish substance.

It really smells like something inside the cabin, not mechanical - but i'll have a poke around the bay and check the cap.

I hope not, but the car does about 20 miles a month so it's possible!

I'd whip the cat off and give that a whiff.

I don't get my hands that dirty with this car, but the exhaust fumes smell normal / not-catty.
