Driving Hard When It's Cold Outside?

  Clio 182
I'm generally a bit of a granddad driver, especially on the pot-holed roads around here. On the way home tonight there was no traffic at all and I just thought I'd remind myself how much I like the Clio - nothing silly, just booted it a bit. When I looked in the rear view mirror there was a LOT of exhaust smoke/steam. It didn't look dirty or anything. Is this normal? It was -5 degrees so I assume it's just the hot exhaust gases condensing in the cold air?
