Driver door doesnt lock with central locking

Only noticed this the other day. So been thinking I been locking the car when pressing lock on my key, but has been leaving driver door open :/ now i know I been manually lockin the driver door. But would obviously prefer to use button on key

Any idea what it is that's causing it? Car is 02 reg 172

This happened on my ph1 172, all i had to do was take the door cards off and clean the electrical points at the lock, this seemed to fix the probem for me.
