drive shaft snapped, stuck in gearbox

my mate has a clio ph2 172, his passenger driveshaft has snapped flush at the gearbox end. any ideas on how to get the bit in the gearbox out? is there a circlip holding it in?
any help apprieciated, thanks

Take the three bolts out the gearbox holding the driveshaft on

that simple? i havnt actually had a look at the car yet just going off what my mate has text me . cheers

3 bolts are only holding the gaitor. But should come off quite easily then.

drain the box first

Put something under the gearbox to catch the oil where the big rubber boot is, remove the 13mm bolts pull the welly off, and the remaining part of the shaft will just pull out, how the hell did it snap!! Lol
