Dog Bone Mount

Hi all

Just had my car MOT'd and was told that i should replace the bottom dog bone engine mount as there is a lot of movement from the engine. I am wondering if there is much differendce in the uprated versions you can get, as i have read the k-tec provide such items, or is it just as good for me to get the part from reno?

Anyone else bought the above, comments would be great, ie - does it stop the engine moving as much when pulling away?

Cheers Guys

Get the Renaut one

Ony worth getting an uprated one if your doing all the mounts...if you change just the dogbone (uprated) it's likely to put more stress on the other mounts.

do you get any vibration through the pedals with this gone mate? i seem to be getting a slight vibration through all my pedals at the minute, especially at higher revs and was wondering if it was my dog bone mount.

cheers

could be any of the mounts although i would suggest its the doggie as its in closer proximity to the pedals when compared to the top mount.

Just get under there and take it off - you will soon see if the bushes are knackered- its an easy job too

its strange, i think i can feel like something clicking into place when pulling away, i think i can feel it thru the pedals but dunno if its just the noise that i hear making me think that.

i dont get any clicking, just vibration, it just started doing it last week after it had been raining, and i had not been driving it hard.....i let my local garage have a look at it and they could feel the vibration put could not find anything at fault.

they did not have any mounts off to check the bushes so i might just check them, as you wont be able to properly check these on the car i suppose.

i got the "clicking" thing when pulling away its the engine moving, it makes a click when it cant move any further in the mount, or thats the only thing i can think about.

i changed the mount yesterday with a 172 one and its much better now car no longer jumps out of gear when your coming upto a roundabout at 80mph lol (scarey when that happens!)
