Dodgy new speakers

Got some kenwood 2 way speakers just for the front doors, tok the old pioneer ones out and connected the new ones up, worked fine then screwed them in but as i was screwing the passenger side one in the scre started to give off small sparks. ALl of the speakers stopped working but as the screws got tighter they came back on again. Thought it was all fine, but now as im diving they all keep going off. THe head unit will stay on playing but nothing comes out any of the speakers. I can also hear like a crackin from the passenger front door speaker just before it goes off.

Sounds like a dodgy earth !! Are the connections touching the metal bodywork of the door anywhere ??

Or have you wired the + to a - wire ??

Just a thought may not be the right solution !

wires are all right, cant see that the wires would be touching any part of the metal at all.
