DIY whole car respray..

My mate is respraying his CRX delSol yellow. He has started on the spoiler, but will take him ages to do the whole car! I will keep this updated each time i get an update!

Here is a taster

Front bumper is off, side sills are off and sprayed.

rear bumper also off and sprayed, don't think many layers of lacquer has been sprayed on yet

He's getting it done quite quick tbh, quite impressed.

Is he using halfords lacquer or some good 2k stuff? As the halfords/othershop stuff is so soft I think it'd be ruined very quickly.

Edit: I'll reserve judgement until he moves onto big pannels, i.e bonnet, roof.

Yeah i think he's doing the 'easy' bits first, he won't be doing the bonnet i dont think as its a cf bonnet, but the roof would be interesting to see how well he gets that done.

I'm guessing he'll do it on the car, as the roof panel would be hard to take off, no? But we'll see.

I think it's mostly Halfords stuff, but paint hes getting batches of 20 i think.

Just spoke to my mate, and he is CF 3M wrapping the roof and boot lid!

Also he just told me he recently found out that the original color on the del Sol, the dark green is very very rare! PMSL!!!

The work looks fairly decent for DIY, But photos can hide a lot.

I agree a compressor, A DIY booth and some mixed paint would work a lot better but wheres the fun!
