Different Tyres

  1.2 Clio
Is it ok to combine tyres across your car? Like can i have one make on the front and a different make on the back? Do the treads have to be the same? Or can they be different?? I will keep profiels the same IE Still 185/55 all round. Just cant afford new old make tyres :)

Thanks

legally you can have any make of tyre on any wheel, but they MUST be the same size per axle

ie both front tyres must be the same size and so must both rear tyres

but you can have say 195/50 15 on the front 2 and 185/55 15 on the rear 2

but i would recommend you have the same 4 tyres all round

Yeah I'll third that. But if you couldn't afford 4 tyres and you wanted to swap from one brand to another then swap in pairs according to which end wears out first. Personally I'd never have two different tyres on the same axle.
