Diagnosis required - should be very easy...

  Breaking A 172 Replica
Hi guys,

Quick question:

About 3weeks ago I lowered my car on 50mm lowering spring.

Pleased with the result although yesterday and today there has been a slight knocking somewhere.

I have had a look under the bonnet and the struts seem to be lose and they turn when I turn the wheel - just to confirm they should not be like this?

WellI tried to tighten the bolts but they are tight and will not go tighter.

What could explain the gap I have between the strut top and the shell of the car?

Thanks

Sam

Oh right.

Wonder what the knocking could be then :S?

It isn't the CV boot as I have checked this.

There is a definite slight movement in the wheel when braking and turning. It isn't the wheel bolts before someone suggests this.

No but the wheel seems to be straight. When the tracking has been out before it has always been obvious as the wheel would need to be off centre to go straight?

Yeah I will get it check later on matey.

Anyone else know what this could be? Its just I am going karting later and I'd rather my strut didn't fall out whilst giving it death on the airfield.....
