Sorry for links and not pictures!

have I read that right? you waxed then went over it with a sealant or was it the other way round
yeah i finished it off with Auto Finesse Tough Coat, After The Bouncers22 just to insure the endurance of the wax and it gave the final shine, why do you question that? am i wrong in my thinking?
everytime i clean it now i will shampoo it, then seal it and i shouldn't have to top up the wax for a few months

Noo!
Tough coat is quite solvent heavy. Its likely that you've stripped some of the wax off and it probably won't bond properly!

Great product selection otherwise :)

not questioning your knowledge, but if someone knew what they were doing was going to take advice from anyone, it would be from someone like Russ!

i know but i was just stating that it had been adequately polished thats all! im sure he knows what he is talking about, as i have heard from others that you know what your talking about to dave.
i have noticed i get quite defensive over my work i have done because i know it is of the best quality and i dont miss a thing when detailing a car, its very rare if i do! but its all learning i spose :)

Chap, don't get defensive, but you don't know what you're doing. You sealed over a wax. And in your other thread you're intent on detailing a high value car while questioning how to treat a soft top? Walk before you run and all that!

the picture has been enhanced that's why it looked like its been quickly blown over.

if you dont like the thread, dont comment. if you wanted to give me pointers and tips, fell free.

"Detailing Finesse is a solo run detailing business that professionally detail cars."

Just checking.

Maybe learning off a professional would be a good tip?

We comment because you "have the gear but no idea" so could be causing damage to other people's cars, giving the detailing world a bad name...

Simple question, are you charging other people? This thread states "today I am doing my own car for once"...?!

The phrase 'know your audience' springs to mind.

I never understand why people take such offence to positive critique and/or suggestions.

nobody is perfect and even such perfectionists/professional like Russ will still learn new things along the way.

As above. Friends and family is fine, it's when you start charging the general public that it becomes a real issue.

This..

Detailing isn't about a 'personal hobby' or however you want to label it, there are a lot of people on here who know their stuff, and others who I wouldn't let tend to my mountain bike, so as James said, don't get defensive, do a bit of research, it takes time to build the skill for it - knowledge is power.

well i wont be damaging anyone's car, i might not have a massive knowledge base of yet, but i do know what im doing with the equipment i assure you.

i like positive critique but when people just set out to slate what you done i find it quite needed really, i knwo you never stop learning, like never done a softtop care perviously and i got slated for asking a question about if snowfoam would effect the soft top, all i wanted was advice or a answer really...

i have been doing quite abit of research and i am learning alot all the time, but people who just jump to conclusions and slate people is just not needed and doesnt get anyone anything, all im trying to do is learn and get a good knowledge base :(

i was advised abotu sealing over the wax, ive been told since that it might of removed some of the wax that i applied.. i was testing what i was told, thats why i said im learning..
yeah in the other thread i was only asking if snow foam would effect the soft top, cause i was curious and no1 gave me advice that was useful which was abit of a shame, i guessed but still asked about tardis and ironx, this was all due to a friend asking me to clean there car, i know im still learning but no1 gives you a chance on here unless your in a "click" it seems, would of been nice to just been given advice and help by some of the people that have a good knowledge base and share it, but don't see the point of people commenting just to slate me. im not a professional, and im trying to learn off others that is all -.-

The problem isn't anything to do with there being a "click" as you reckon there is.

You didn't come on and state you are fairly new to it all and are willing to accept help from others. Like JD has already said, it seems you are trying to run before you can walk. Or that's how it comes across anyway mate.

the worst thing you can ever do is claim you know it all, added to this making a school boy error doesn't help you out.

i appreciate sometimes its hard to accept criticism when you feel you are doing things right but its like 'tough love', take advice etc on board and use it to help you expand your knowledge and skills.

well just the way it feels thats all, yeah i agree i made a schoolboy error, but it was just something i was told that obviously i didnt think straight when i heard it, well admittedly i might be running before i walk but im not doing anything to the car that i havent done before many times, i wasnt treating or touchign the softtop, i jsut didnt want anything that might splash onto the soft top to effect it thats all, adviec would of been nice tbh.

yeah i am learning from the people like you that are trying help me, but others i will just learn to ignore

It's worrying though, if you don't know the basics then how can you care for another persons car. Which is probably the 2nd most expensive thing they'll ever buy.

I noticed you neglected to reply to my earlier post.

  Not a 320d
I polished my car with turtle wax shampoo and wax (AIO product!!). Used a buffer attached to my dads drill. Came up a treat.

We've given you answers to everything you've asked.

You started the thread on a public forum, we answered. We then showed concerns that you're not only "doing it how you've always done it" on your own car (incorrectly as we've pointed out), but also on other people's cars.

We didn't start a business without the necessary knowledge, get defensive, then try and back up about it not being a business, just a hobby...

Anyway, I'm out. Hope you're insured for your own sake!
