Detailing Advice Needed

Totally new to this sort of thing, usually givemy car a quick wash and polish with some cheap stuff but basically im looking to start doing some proper detailing to my car. Does anywhere do a 'beginners kit' or something similar? Any help is much appreciated

Sometimes I wonder why I bother when I get dings in my door, and I look at my car 2 days after I spent 8 hours cleaning it and it is watermarked from the rain and salt on the roads in the winter, or caked with bugs in the summer.

TBH, I haven't bothered 'detailing' mine for some time, I just take 45 mins to wash it.
