Decatted 172 running VERY rich

  2004 ph2 172
Hi there.. just introduced myself in the newbie section, and am in need of some help here...

A few weeks back I fitted a Janspeed De-cat and stainless K-Tech exhaust
system to my little 172. All was fine until the "exhaust system fault" light popped up.

It is now running rich: MPG readings on display rocket the moment I touch the acellerator, though it is capable of maintining a semi-reasonable reading when at constant speed.

While idling the unburnt fuel smell is really noticable. ....

1. The Renault Dealer here in Sweden is Volvo... and they make you pay. (in a "Are you wearing your pretty undies?" kind of way)
2.
I don't mind forking out 35 quid for a diagnostic tool from Ktech
3. Does anyone have experience of this?

My guess is that the upstream lambda is screwed or I've worn through the cable somewhere. s**t happens, but Im simply wondering if this is common or has been previously experienced.

Thanks for any help you're able to offer,

Med Vänligen Hälsningar

Nick
