Dashboard lights trouble?

Having trouble with a Mk2Ph2 clio.
When the engine is on, alongside the headlights. Both the dials on the dashboard panel are not illuminated at all.
I have tried all variations on the stalk, switching the engine on and off. Nothing.

Can anyone suggest anything to look for?

Right hand side of the dashboard, down by your right leg should be a little switch you can turn. This changes the brightness of the dash lights.
