Connecting MBP to HD tv

This has probs been asked before but I'm just after a quick answer if anyone can help, what cables do I need to connect my MBP to my HD tv and where from? Thanks.

What year is it?

Mid 2010 > Mini DP to HDMI and you're good to go, they support audio over HDMI.

Pre 2010 update is also Mini DP but no audio, you need an optical cable as well for that if you want to carry 5.1

Available at Apple for about £15, on eBay for about £5.

Apple don't make a Mini DP to HDMI, they only make a Mini DP to DVI, but I always used that with a DVI to HDMI

3rd party Mini DP to HDMI are on eBay now for about £5

Ive just got my MacBook Pro and wondering about this. All my HDMI slots on my TV are taken, so will a Mini Dp?? to DVI work?

Im an idiot when it comes to this sort of stuff.

I brought my mbp in feb so what cables do I need please? My mates laptop only needed one HDMI cable why can't it be as easy as that:|
