Compatibility between jb1 and jb3 - final drive swap

Can I take final drive from a jb1 gearbox and put it into a jb3 955

Looking to swap from 4.0xx final drive to 4.5

Afaik JB1 ans JB3 got different differential bearing setup (hence why you cannot fit an lsd made for a JB3 on a JB1) so being the differential itself different.. it may be that also final drive cogs can be different too
