Coilover setup Stockport/Manchester

Can anyone recommend a decent garage around the above areas who will be able to do some minor adjustments to my coilovers? I want camber setting and the tracking done (toe out set to 20 mins). Ride height, dampening etc is already setup, so a pretty simple job?

Ric Wood has quoted £90-120 dependent on time it takes, not too bad...

Pro Sport want £75+VAT for the tracking and £47.50+VAT an hour for labour!?!? Reckon it will take 2 hours too... so that's that one out of the question... anyone recommend anyone decent?

There's a place in Stoke tat Middo used called PSI. They're VAG specialists but did a decent job on his, depends how far you want to travel though!

I paid near on 250£ to have mine done so Ric's prices seem superb imo. If it's just the camber and track you're wanting done and you know what you want it set at..Dare i say it, even kwikfit could do it with the laserline's. Just watch over them. It's no more than an hour job!!

£250!? f**k me, what did you have done? Last time out I took it to Pro Sport as it was last minute and needed it doing at one days notice, they did a top job but are very expensive. 4 wheel alignment to set the tracking was £75+VAT alone, then £47.50+VAT per hour ended up cost me almost £300.

Suppose I could get Kwik fit to do the tracking, just need to sort out the camber then, but would rather take it to somewhere interested in cars so more care is taken.

Shitfit can do camber, the modern gear they have is spot on!! I even told the boy how to work it! ha!

Aye no cheap, was to fit, do heights, camber, track, Weights...Plus faffin about with all the stupid engine cover bolts etc! Race set up...

well last time I spoke to the muppets there they told me they couldn't, but then Andy kindly pointed out that if they have a 4 wheel alignment machine (which they do) then it can be done... chances are they just didn't know how to use it... which sounds about right, as they struggled to fit my decat on the Williams. Those 4 bolts proved a headache lol

That's not bad then if they did ride height fitting and geomatry setup, I basically just need a basic setup, not bothering with corner weighting this time as it's not really necessary as I cant drive well enough to make it count for anything hehe

The one ins tockport said go to Alty and try egtting it done there as mine was to low so going up in a minute.

I've tried Alty in the past and the chap said they could only do factory settings, but I've called them just a moment ago and spoke to a chap there who was very helpful. He's informed me that they can do custom settings as long as I know absolutely 100% specifically what I want, best bit is it's only a nifty!

So going for 1.6 negative degrees of camber and 20 minutes (or a 1/3rd degree) of toe out. Dont need as much camber on this setup as it's about 20 times as stiff... going to go play with my dampers in a couple of hours, I want to see what setting 32 is like for poops and giggles. Dentist booked in advance

PSI were awesome, cost 80 quid and did a superb job, prob worth the drive in all honesty, most places will charge 250 for a similar service

Demon Tweeks at Chester set up my coilies on the vee.

Cost 90 squid and has got to be the best money i have spent, came out completely transformed.

They adjusted camber in, toe in, toe out etc.

Definetely worth the journey, even from Sheffield

How you run your car that low is unreal!!! I bottled it and raised mine!

Demon tweeks get good reviews from the V6 boys...Not sure how far they are away??!?

I'd go with someone more motorsport oriented than Kwik Fit normally, but the ride height has been set to the builders specs, so it just leaves damping (which I can do myself) and toe out and camber. I've got the settings which they had to have, otherwise they cant do it. For £50 that's a bargain though imo

Demon tweeks as stated! They usually charge us £50-60 plus vat to do camber etc on a 172/182 after coilover fitting!!
