Clutch release bearings different? + grease question

  Stealth 438'd 182
Just a couple of questions before it all goes together..

Got the old release bearing off it looked like this one on the bottom.. Not marked valeo

My new valeo kit has one like this one on top.. Slightly different design!

Clutch and pressure plate looked the same and are fitted no worries at all

I've been told the silver bit next to it isn't important and to chuck it..

Also I seem to have lost the grease in the kit for the inside of the bearing and input shaft.. What is best to use? Copper grease okay?

Thanks guys

Rob

  DON'T SEND ME PM'S!!
If it fits on the fork and is the same thickness then its fine. The other part is for alignment, not needed and makes fitting harder imo.

thanks dan :D

yeah its the same thickness and everything just looks a different design! yeah figured as much.. binned.. aligned by eye anyway

any advice on what to lube.. and what with being as ive lost the little pack that came with it?

input shaft.. inside the release bearing.. cluch fork pivot ball and end of the fork? or just leave it be??

Put the lube on the gearbox input shaft (the splined bit where the friction plate sits)

Also pays to put some on the clutch fork pivot cap thats attached to the bell housing
don't get carried away with the lube though.
