Clunking noise from electric window

Hi,

Everytime i lower my driverside window, it makes a clunking noise. Went to stealers today and they are trying to charge me £270 to replace the window regulator/krompresser!! What a rip surely!!!

Searched the forum and looks like I can get this part a lot cheaper, but I`m not too savy with the DIY on cars. So how easy is it to actually pull the door covers off, and install this new regulator unit? Do I need any special tools?

Advice most welcome.

had this with mine. door card off, grease the cable and mechanism. put window up and down a few times, door card back on.
