Clio Noob... Noticable differences between 172/182??

  Silver 182
Right, hopefuly in the next few weeks i am going to be looking to buy my first Clio Sport,

Apart from the exterior differences will i actually notice the 10bhp difference?

I either lloking for a Cup model 172/182, of a FF 182,

Sorry for the Noob question, just wondered,

Adam.

Firstly, it's a RenaultSport Clio or a Clio RenaultSport. Not a Clio Sport. That's a 1.4

Nope, you'll never notice the difference in 10bhp. A good 172 will be faster than a bad 182 for example.

If you get a Cup, get a 172 Cup. I wouldn't worry so much about the packs, especially if you intend to modify it. The suspension choices are greater if you don't have the Cup suspension.

Cambelt is important. It's due at 5 years/72k.

A lot of places don't do it properly as it needs special tools which they don't use but think it won't matter. So if you find that needs doing, get the price down and get it done by a specialist. It generally costs about £500ish. Less for a Cup as they don't have aircon. Slightly more if it needs a new dephaser (it will sound like a diesel taxi if it needs one)

BTM in Brum and Birchdown are in the NW. Both very good.
