clio cup racer induction??

How come the clio cup race cars have the filter bolted straight onto the inlet manifold? Ive seen 4 now and all have this set up.
Doesnt this cause heat soak?
Has anyone tried this on their clio, with what results?

I see, so forget i mentioned cup racer.
Still the same question though, how well does this set up work?
I would have thought they would be heat soak by the bucket load.

Well on track it's probably ok if you get enough air flow, they aren't exactly going to be sitting around in traffic/stop starting

Still not great though
