Clio 172 Coolant Leak

Hi All,

Just looking for some advice. Noticed my Clio keeps draining itself of coolant and ive narrowed it down to a silicone pipe near the radiator on the passenger side of the car. Looks like some sort of 'T' pipe.

Is this a common issue? With this being my first coolant issue on any of my cars, is it a straight forward job of swapping out the pipe and then just filling the car up with coolant again?

Any tips or advice would be great.

Also if you know anywhere selling these parts for a good price, let me know.

I would inspect the hoses going to the T pipe and make sure they are not cracked and the clamps/fittings are tight. If you just have to change the T piece it should be straight forward swap and fill with coolant.

Have you got a picture? You could get the parts from Renault Parts Direct who are a forum trader.

*Update*

So i filled the tank up with coolant again and left it idling, when the temp came up, the fan kicked in as normal, i noticed then the coolant tank fill back up with a load of coolant. Very odd. Then the fan switched back off and the coolant level went back down.

I then noticed some slight smoke coming from the fan area so decided to shut the car off.

Really confused, couldnt seem to see any leaks this time.

Anyone have any ideas?

Noticed coolant on my drive under the cup last week as well turns out my radiator was done as well just had a new one fitted. Garage reckoned it was the original one so it lasted pretty well
