clio 172 camshaft phaser

any idea's on how much it will cost to be changed?

does it do any damage to use the car with it gone?

reason being my mate has a 172 and has been told the phaser has gone, and he is still using the car as a daily driver but worried it will kill the engine

If it breaks completely (which it will in time) it will bend the valves and cost you££££
Fitting is basicly the same cost as having the cambelt done. So around £450 with belt kit
