Clio 1.4 RT Oil Leak - Please Help

  RenaultSport clio 172 mk2
Hi All

I am a newbie clio owner, as I got a 1997 Clio about 2 weeks ago. The car runs great. Real fun to drive. But I found the engine oil is too dark and getting thick, so I put the Clio for oil & filter change into a garage. After the oil change, I am seeing patches oil leak on the ground from the Clio. I phoned the garage, and explained about it - it was never like that before the oil change. They asked me to bring the Clio back. They said that it might be oil sump washer or something - need to be changed.

I think they changed the washer, drained the oil, and filled with oil. I thought the leak would have gone, but it is still leaking. I can see just after driving the Clio, and when I come out of Clio, and look under the bonnet, and I can see dribble of oil, then it stops. I checked the oil level, and it is still maximum level on the stick.

What could have happened here, and what need to be done?

Thanks for your advice.

cheers from FW

For more information, there is no warning light for engine oil, and the oil pessure gauge is indicating fine.

I am wondering if the garage who changed the oil might have broken something? - either by overtightening the plug, and cracking the oil sump?

cheers

tip mate :) :never go by the il guage or pressure level, there aobut as useful as a french dictionary in germany lol. just keep checkin the level on the dipstick.

as for the oil, maybe its coming from the washer underneath the sump? im sure somebody will have the answer you need :) just check the washer is on tight, and the oil filter too.
