Clio 1.4 1999 - Stopped and won't start

The other day I was driving my Clio 1.4 from 1999 and suddenly I heard like a popping sound and car stopped working. After pulling it back home, I checked spark plugs, priming, starter...and everything looks good.

I'm thinking about compression issue but...any other idea? Cleaned crankshaft position sensor, checked battery and fuses, lights in the dashboard look okay.

I can't afford taking it to a mechanic so if I can't fix it, I will have to sell it as scrap or parts.

And buy another car? That's not going to work out any cheaper.

What DOES it do, does the starter turn? Any dashlights? Is there oil in it?
Also, where abouts are you, there might be generous sorts nearby who can help

For the price I spent on the car and the maintenance already done, doesn't worth for me considering I need to do MOT and everything, anyway, that's my own decission.

Starter turns, no wrong dashlights, oil level good, petrol pumps, all liquids level are ok.
