Clio’s the way to go...

After going to Oulten park track day yesturday...it occured to me that the little clios are the way to go!

Before I bought my valver (silver williams) i was debating between a 5GTT and the clio, however never really test drove one or had a look round it properly!

Although yesturday i got to have a little look round one and blip the throttle when it was ticking over...and it was a v.nice one however it just made me realise that it wasnt for me. The throttle response didnt feel very instant...it also felt quite rough, but suppose as its carb it will! It also took a while to start and didnt seem all that fast on the track as there were a couple there!

Now im not saying there crap because i still do like them and one will prob own one...but after going out with chris, gaz, 2live, northy and driving my own car then its made me appreciate the valver/williams/172/182 a lot more...especially as chris can do silly speeds in all gears!!!ba*tard!

So in my conclusion i really enjoyed the handling, speed and manoverability of the clios and feel i made the right choice in buying mine...just thought id share my views and see if anyone else felt the same!

A Very very low diesel is the way to go.

Cheap as chips.

Was a good laught though.

I think the owners of Oulton park might be comming round to collect the acre of grass I picked up when I was there. Its all over the drive at the moment.

The idea of buying a cheap 16V or Williams etc for track days is quite appealing particulaly as I wouldnt need to insure it.

the fact that nearly all the clios was keeping pace or getting past the bigger cars ie scoobys etc says it all, i know its not a race but u could tell when they didnt want a clio/saxo overtaking them lol

I wish Id stayed out a few more laps as I was just behind Pete Savill when I came in to the pits to get the camera removed although they told me I could do a few more laps.
