Just be mindful of the post cat sensor. Mine was fine, then this weekend I fitted a new exhaust which has made the cat sit higher, that and pulling the engine forward has pushed the post cat sensor into the heatshield and gear linkage which then blows the fuel pump fuse when it shorts. Now I need a new sensor!

Thanks all. Have tried and tested yet, but, I did manage to move the engine forward a fair bit yesterday.

Also had a chance to photograph top mount setup. Does all look correct?

These are the top hats. The nut appears to spin on one of them but is fixed on the other. No idea if that’s correct.

I’m sure that it’s separate to the knock and hopefully the engine position is the culprit. Will try tomorrow when the weathers improved.

So, i've taken both shock absorbers out, and unassembled both. The passenger side spring looks like it had been compressed to the point that the bump stop had split in two. Should the spring be compressing to the point that the coils rub together? (pic below)

Measures taken so far to try and cure this issue:

- New top mount bearings
- New upper gearbox mount
- Polybushed dogbone
- Swapped to OEM dogbone
- Swapped back to Polybushed dogbone
- Triple-checked steering rack bolts are tight
- Moved engine forward and tightened down the engine mount

Knock is still there. I will be booking the car in to be looked at by a garage... although I am wondering if larger outter arb bushes would help? mine look almost loose. I ordered 23mm outter bushes for reference and the arb on the car when dismantling looked to be new/recently swapped.

Bumpstops always fall to bits on these, as they are used as secondary damping when lowered. I destroyed a bumpstop riding the kerbs at Blyton.

Id imagine the springs are progressively wound so will touch coils a bit.
