needs a wee bit of work, but not bad for the money?

I'm sadly having to sell my beautiful 99 BH5 Subaru Legacy GTB twin Turbo.

I have fitted a brand new EJ25 (2.5L) short engine from the new 2.5 Impreza STI into it and it has only just reached the 1200 mile run in period.

I was planning to get Bob Rawle to do the mapping once it had been run in but due to other toys and commitments I'd rather let it go as it is. It has been checked over by myself and another tuner on the laptop with a wideband lamda and its running perfectly safely as it is. To get the best power from it though it really does need a proper EcuTek remap by Bob (£450). Bob has said it should easily reach 330-350bhp without any major increases in boost. That would make a safe, reliable and phenominally quick car.

For those not in the know these Legacys are developed by Bilsten and handle beautifully. They are 260-280bhp as standard and having the two turbos means there is little or no lag like the Impreza's. The 2.5 engine has improved things further with even less turbo lag and even more low down power. The best bit however is the improved fuel economy from running lower down in the revs.

This one has the sumptuous full leather sports interior which is in perfect conditon, a full length electric twin sun roof, Electric windows, Clifford Concept Alarm, Central Locking, Climate Control, Electric drivers seat, Power Steering, electric heated mirrors, roof bars, tow bar...... and the list goes on.

It's also got lots of useful stuff that most cars don't have like a roll up dog guard that rolls up from the rear seats and has multiple fixing points in the rear of the car, central rear seat belt from the roof, also the rear seats have adjustable backs so they recline independantly - it is definitly a well thought out car!

During the engine conversion, the cambelt was done along with all rollers and tensioners and the auxilary belts were changed, it's had a full engine service including all filters and spark plugs (platinum) and I used Millers Motorsport oil which is recommended for these.

The car iself has done just over 100k but the engine is brand new (not the usual rebuild which are more likely to go wrong again). While I was doing the engine I also had the auto box reconditioned by a specialist at the cost of £500. The body work is not immaculate, it has a few hairline scratches and swirls to the lacure here and there but nothing major and it polishes up beautifully.

This car is probably one of the best BH5's around and an absolute bargain as thousands have been spent to get it this far.

I am the Chairman of Scoobycity Subaru club and as such have driven and owned many Subarus but I can honestly say this has been my favorite. Although the auto box was a bit off putting for me it really does suit this car and is an absolute pleasure to drive and seriously quick.

Now, why is it so cheap?

Well it's currently out of tax and mot and there are a few very minor jobs need doing to get it A1. I am now starting a new business and I just don't have time to so much as look at it. These jobs are as follows.

The primary Turbo squeels as the bearing has gone. I have another one to go on which can be fitted easily in under an hour.

The drivers side rear view mirror glass is cracked. Just the glass, the unit and electrics are fine.

The amplifier for the MacIntosh System has blown but I have another to try.

If I get the above sorted and the car MOT'd the price is £4000

Please give me a call if you have any questions its far easier and less time consuming.
