CD player *ERROR* messege

Just swapped the cd head unit from my 172 into my old 1.2. found the code in the owners manual. when i entered it its just come up saying error, in the owners manual it doesnt say anything about an error messege just that if the code enrtered is incorrect it will beep and say code and i've got to wait a minite before trying again. is this correct or is the cd player knackered all of a sudden? :S

Are you sure the 1.2 Clio is wired correctly for a Tuner List head unit?

its exactly the same wire setup and the stalk works on the steering wheel too so i'm guessing so :S

Did "CODE _ _ _ _" come back after one minute? If so you either entered the code incorrectly or you have the wrong code. If not the unit is proberbly at fault then.
