Carbon Fibre Bonnets....

hi,

just wondering if anyone has this? is it for weight reduction and could i get mine sprayed to perfectly match the Iceberg Silver of my car? what kind of weight saving are we talking about in KGs

also my current bonet has some kind of black fabric lining the the under side? this probably contributes to my engine heating up very quickly. So the KTR CFB wont have this. does this mena that A) it will remain cooler so improve performance and B) that there will be more noise both externally and internally from the engine bay?? this fabric could be being used for Urban Sound insualtion regualtions? i have the same fabric behind my engine ?

thanks all ;)

Ive got the carbon bonnet, weight reduction is not that huge due to the strengthening it has which is needed to retain the strength of the original.

weight differnence is about 4-6kg

yes it can be sprayed, but that defeats the object of buying it in the first place!!!!! (waste of money if your gonna spray it, just keep the original)

Noise internal external hasnt changed, and there is no performance change!!!!

The black fabric linning is there for two reasons, sound deadening, and also to protect the paint on the bonnet from melting!!!!!

reverie can now cover your original bonnet in three types of carbon. no weight saving but all the looks much cheaper. black carbon fibre yellow carbon kevlar and a silver carbon

so.. like you put the bonnet on and it looks a different colour to your car?

Thats the idea!!! people walk past "oooh look its got a carbon fibre bonnet"

You spray paint it then dogs will walk past and piss on it!!

Complete waste of money if you spray it!!! you spend £650 on the bonnet then £100 to spray and the car will look completely standard!!!! POINTLESS

IMO its a styling add on, NOT a performance item
