car revving at 2k help please

Hey guys just went for a meal with the misses and on the way it was hammering it down with rain and loads off puddles on the motorway and the car was aqua planning everwhere that's how bad it was. So we had our meal and when i got to my car i turned the engine on i noticed the rev needle was moving up and downand got worse when i would press the brake and leave it go (when engine is idling when parked up).I drove it 10 mins down the road and it was still doing it, So i turned the engine on and off and when i turned it on it revved to 2k and stayed on it. What could this be as its worrying me help would be great thanks thomas

Sounds like a vacuum leak? Checked all pipes to make sure nothing popped off?

were are the vacuum pipes on these cars cause i just looked and i cant see a thing

Check the pipe from the from of inlet mani to acoustic valve hasn't come loose.

Also check the break vaccume pipe on the rear of the Inlet

This I would say, that's what it was on my old one, the 2k revs is like a limp mode thing I think
