  Gordini 182
when driving to work today, the car seemed very bouncy and pulled to the side on some bumps, running standard stick suspension.

any help on this issue is appreciated

Yep, rear shocks.

Mine was doing it when I bought it, but the seller threw in a set of dampers with the car,
swapped them over, bounciness disappeared.

would uit be cheaper to buy coilovers if i waqs going to lower it anyway?

Not going to be cheaper no, but if you are intending on getting coilovers anyway then yes, it'll save you £120 if you go straight to the coilies instead of buying std now, they coilies in a few weeks.
