car not starting sometimes...

my mums clio (mrk2 ph1) 1.6 doesn't start sometimes, it's been in the garage and they can't find the fault, and its hard to diagnose coz it only happens sometimes. It takes a few attempts at starting it before it starts.

Either the garage is not checking it correctly, or it's a strange problem.

Any ideas?

Check and clean the tdc sensor.

Same as above if it turns over and over. Does it turn over or not turn over?

I would suggest changing the battery. A few people on here have had the same problem, (including myself when I first got the car) and it was just down to the battery. Change that and see if it makes a difference

yup i had the same problem, changed the battery and everythings been ok since (toutch wood!)

Yep battery for me aswell, you can get it tested free of charge at halfords
