Can't get 1st gear - HELP!

Dad's dci 65 is playing up - struggles to get into 1st gear unless you rev it :S

Reverse and 2nd through to 5th is fine

What's going on?
Of- all times it has to happen they are heading away tomorrow! :banghead:
