Starting to wonder what little "detail" you haven't mentioned?

Catagory end-of-the-world postcode? Convictions? Points? Unemployed? History of being refused insurance? Demanding an excess of £0? Poor credit rating? Monumental mileage? Paying monthly?

Tried all the usual? Adding named drivers, trying a quote with no mods (for research not for insurance fraud), limited mileage, pay in full, higher excess, driveway parking (if you even own a drive - again not for fraud) etc

I will try and try again got a quote of £3,300 this morning !

Its parked in a private car park at night with gates which should help. Been driving for 10 years, 3 mods thats it, do 8k a year, will try putting someone else on it, never been in a crash, never claimed.

becoming a problem and it shouldnt be. Tried Aviva other day, no luck

Do you live in Syria or something?

For the details you have given you should be getting quotes much lower than you are!

Do you have some sort of history you are not mentioning? Drink Driving conviction or something?

He might have a poor category postcode.

I do, I could park it in a fort knox style garage but because it's an M postcode my insurance is astronomical, and before you say it, I live in a very nice part of south Manchester, but because it's M, it's bad.

I presume the op is in the same boat?

FYI - I just tried Brentacre on my lunch, didn't even mention I had a renewal from flux through yet, and with everyting declared, comprehensive insurance (flux is TPFT) they came back with £1396. Still not brilliant, but over £500 cheaper than flux's renewal price. I still need to go back to flux to see if they can beat it, and then try brentacre again with my new price.

Still haven't tried the others yet... so much to do.

Yeah I can see what you are all saying, just found out something, could be nothing but on Greenlight my car comes up as a Clio Initiale 16v 1598cc, 5 doors :S

only on this site?? what the ? Ovs I changed the car first. LOL at drink driving? ha ha :rasp:

PL postcode must be so tame compared to the rest of the UK no offence.

Yup. 100%. Notice at no point has he said 'clean license'

I put the OP's details in for a quote as he puts them in this thread. Much cheaper quotes.

Obviously I can't add his disqualification/DD/no insurance as he's keeping quiet about that.

Up date, just had a quote from Sky Insurance £742 which is more like it. Found out what it was, been in temp work and voluntary work so I thought it would be easier to say unemployed. That's been the reason.

Thanks again Sky Insurance, :approve:

Why would bring unemployed rocket insurance up? Surely it would be cheaper for the reasons your not traveling to work? Less milage etc? :s

Do I get to say "told you so?" :p

Obviously quotes will be higher if unemployed. In the majority of cases you'd be less likely to be able to pay an excess in a claim, and less likely to be able to pay for the insurance in the first place especially if you're wanting to pay monthly.
