Can I return an online purchase to an Apple store?

I'm 99% sure that this question has probably been asked before, but after trying multiple word combinations in the search function I've given up and started a thread. Sorry


So...... as the title states, I've bought an iPad off the online store. Can I return it to an actual physical Apple store or do I need to go through the faff of posting it back instead?

You can't return it to the store.

They'll send a courier to collect it.

Not always true.

I've returned an iPhone which I bought online, to the Apple store. Just ask nicely.

I'm not saying they'll do it, but it's down to the manager's discretion, to an extent.
