Can a dealer give you a paint code from a Reg Number?

but the seller does not have the car so he suggested i try and ring fords?

I dont have the chassis number? The guy who is sellign the bumper does not have the car anymore just the parts!:S

In Holland the paint code was also on the sticker in the door...same of which you can read the chassis number...unfortunately the car isn't at hand.

As I understood red is a pain in the ass due to discoloring and stuff.

If it's just a basic color any ford dealer can tell you the paint code by the date of make. It's not like ford made 10 different shades of red in the shame year
