Camshaft Seal Fitment (Pulley End)

F4R engine....Fitted some schricks yesterday, reassembled, developed a leak from the camshaft seals (pulley end)...

Well only just found this out after stripping it down again....is the groove on the seal meant to be facing the pulley, or the inside of the head?

Thanks if anyone can confirm this, as the people ive spoken to are 50/50 on it....dosent say in the 172 assembly manual either!

yeah thats the way I had it....turns out the exhaust cam seal had a split in it
