I have no dephaser noise at all.I know it should be done and would kick myself if i leave it and it develops a noise
Whats the worst that will happen if i just get belts done?
dephaser will get noisey right but not break and screw the engine?

Worse that could happen is dephasher develops a noise and you will have to get belts done again if decide to replace it! For piece of mind get the lot done in one hit and enjoy it without that worry. Only going to save you hundred quid if you risk not having dephasher done anyway.

FLOL, thought the exact same thing!

It really is questionable spending £500, a not insignificant drive and a day getting the belts done without having the dephaser changed.

Mine had it's belts done by the previous owner and I can only say I wish they had gone the extra £100 to do the dephaser, instead of me having to have the belts done 2 years early. Needless to say if I'd have spent £500 without the dephaser 3 years ago it'd be even more frustrating!
