C I Module what do they do ???

As above i have just bought a Plasma tv and when i go to a certain chanel is say's "No C I Module" can anyone tell me what they do please ???

I spotted this one on ebay:

They decode the TopUp TV/ESPN channels.

Its monthly normally I'm pretty sure

The CI module plugs in your slot on the tv, then your individual top up TV card holding which subscriptions your subscribed to slots into the CI module. Like a sky subscription card on sky boxes
